Harvest Time Prison/Jail Ministries

I was in prison and you came to visit me…Matthew 25:36
(You) refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains…2 Tim 1:16

Mission Statement

"The Spirit of the Lord is on Me; because of this He has anointed Me to proclaim the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and new sight to the blind, to set at liberty those having been crushed.” Luke 4:18

The Lord has placed a burden on our hearts for the lost here in this tri-state area and in the jails and prisons. It is our goal to break the cycle and see their lives turned around.
Our ministry believes in taking them past salvation and into a personal relationship with Christ Jesus through sharing God’s Word and showing them His love.

Accomplishments

Baptism—53 male and 14 female inmates have been baptized to this date with more waiting.

Jail Ministry: Weekly visits to the area jails to minister to men and women. Teaching them as disciples how to grow in their new walk and the love that is found in Christ.

Prison Pen Pal Program: Prison Inmates are ministered to by showing God’s love by corresponding through letters.

Mentor Program: Ex-inmates are mentored to on a regular basis when they attend the Family Recovery Program It is our goal to help them establish Godly friendships both inside and outside the church.

CD Ministry to Prisons: Reaching out to the prisons in Georgia. Monthly CD's are sent out to participating prisons in hopes of getting the Word of God into their hearts.

Bibles to Prisons: Bible drives have been held and the Bibles have been sent to Lee Arrendale State Prison for the inmates.

Family Enrichment & Intervention: This is a Christ centered, faith based program that helps people struggling with life controlling issues an opportunity to be free. People enrolled in Drug Court, Family Drug Court, on probation, under a bond order, or court order, may substitute this class for NA or AA. It is also recommended for those just getting out of jail or prison. These classes are held every Monday evening at 7:00pm for men and women, and Tuesday mornings at 10:00am for women, at World Harvest Church North.

Recently shoe boxes and items were brought in to the women at the Fannin County Jail. These shoe boxes were for Operation Christmas Child for the ladies to fill and decorate. Operation Christmas Child is an organization through Samaritan’s Purse, that provides shoe boxes filled with gifts for needy children in countries where they never heard about Jesus, much less Christmas. This allowed the women to share the message of Christ to others in obedience to the Great Commission taught in Matthew 28:16-20.
